Firefighter Netcast is coming to you Live from FDIC. This show was taped live at FDIC 2010 in Indianapolis at 2:30 pm on Thursday, April 22, 2010.
Fred Simon joined us in discussing the topic “Distribution of photos and videos taken by firefighters at work“.

In addition to being an attorney, serving as mayor of Glenview Hills and on the board of trustees for the Harrods Creek Fire Department, Fred Simon is also a volunteer firefighter. (By Melissa Poore, The Courier-Journal)
Fred is a volunteer lieutenant with the Harrods Creek Fire Department and a lawyer. His goal is to help solve day-to-day operational issues that confront firehouses and boards of trustees nationwide, from safety and risk to liability claims. He also provides tailored legal representation for emergency personnel in Louisville and the surrounding area.
Fred was just featured in an article in the Courier Journal located in Louisville, KY.
While driving home from work one day 11 years ago, Fred Simon saw a sign seeking volunteers for the Harrods Creek Fire Department.
“I couldn’t sleep that night. I kept thinking about it,” he said.
So the next day, he stopped in for a visit. He ended up meeting the chief and was in training the next week.
Simon, who has worn a pager ever since, is ready to jump in at a moment’s notice to help, whether that means driving a ladder truck, handling hoses or using his small stature to wriggle into attics while fighting fires. Continue reading… Attorney learns to fight fire
