Firefighter Netcast is Catching On!!!
When we started Firefighter Netcast, we did not know what to expect. We started out with the assistance of many great EMS podcasters as our technical advisors. Guys like Greg Friese, Jamie Davis, and Chris Montera offered us a ton of help on getting started and we ran with it.
Our show, now getting ready for our 16th episode is about to expand.
Blogging is no problem, I (Rhett) have had a hand in blogging for the last 5 years. I have helped numerous blogs get started and seen some of them flourish. Podcasting was a new venture. John and I took the time to do it right the first time. There will be plenty of lessons learned still, and we continually reevaluate our delivery, audio, and everything else that accompanies our taped podcasts and live netcasts.
One area we have finally gotten a grasp on is statistics. We can now capture our traffic, usage, and downloads. With the exception of people downloading it and re-uploading it on their own sites, we know how many people are listening. Unfortunately for us, we do not have the first 3-4 months of stats from listens via this site and itunes, but we do have our stats from our live shows on Blog Talk Radio.
We were somewhat surprised to find out just how many listens we are getting. To say the least, we were very happy to find out that our estimations were off…probably by several thousand listens.
Why are we telling you this and why does it matter? Well it has everything to do with our shows! We want people to listen. We need people to listen. Without people listening, it would not be worth producing these shows.
Keep listening, keep spreading the word, and keep letting us know what you think! These shows have a lot of input from our listeners. Whether you call in live, send email, or contact us in some other way we listen and we adjust to what our readers want!
Look for big things in the future. Including 3 new shows coming online! That is right, we will be producing at least 3 more shows for Firefighter Netcast. We don’t mean our shows, we mean shows with different hosts, different topics, and different guests. Consider that Firefighter Netcast 2.0!
Now you won’t have to listen to John and I all the time!
