Join Firefighter Netcast host Tiger Schmittendorf at 9pm on Wednesday-December 8th on Firefighter Storytellers radio show live from the Buffalo Fire Historical Society.
The direct link for the show is here
Tiger’s guest will be retired Lt. Patrick Coghlan from the Buffalo Fire Department. Pat is a 34-year veteran of Rescue One and Vice President of the Buffalo Fire Historical Society. More than that, Patty is a real character with a bit of a crusty exterior — but when you peel that away — you find a big guy with an even bigger heart and a very special fondness for telling stories and preserving the rich history of the fire service.
They’ll ’ll be joined around the table by a cast of characters in swapping stories about Christmas in the firehouse, the special Christmas display at the museum, and the pending retirement of another one of Buffalo Fire’s most famous characters: Battalion Chief and former Commissioner Mike Lombardo. The show will wrap up with a tribute to the memories of the five Buffalo firefighters lost in the downtown propane explosion on December 27, 1983 which forged a special bond between Pat Coghlan, Mike Lombardo and many others in the department at the time.
Please join us for a very special Christmas edition of Firefighter Storytellers on the FirefighterNetcast radio network. Trust me, we won’t run out of material any time soon. You’d better put on another pot.
