John Mitchell has entered his fifth decade in the fire service, beginning in the late 70’s as a volunteer firefighter/EMT in Illinois. He later became a licensed paramedic and career firefighter in suburban Chicago, currently a Lieutenant.  John has dual A.A.S. degrees in Fire Science and Emergency Medical Services and is a past lead instructor for Firefighter II and EMT-B courses at McHenry County College in Crystal Lake, IL.  He is also a certified Fire Officer II, Safety Officer, and Fire Investigator with the State of Illinois.  John is the editor of FireDaily.com and ILFireNews.com.

Rhett Fleitz is an 16 year veteran with the fire service and a lieutenant for an urban fire department in Virginia. He runs FireCritic.com and VAFireNews.com among other web sites. Rhett has been involved in blogging, web site publishing, and writing for the fire service since 2005. His company Prinston Media offers online publishing and web site design with an emphasis in the fire service.
